Project Overview
Piuquenes is located in San Juan, Argentina, within the Central Andes Miocene Porphyry Belt, one of the world’s premier copper–gold porphyry districts, and ranked the #1 mining jurisdiction in Latin America by the Fraser Institute (2019). The project sits in a zone that hosts some of the world’s largest copper deposits and is surrounded by Tier-1 projects operated by major mining companies. This exceptional geological setting makes Piuquenes a standout address for copper exploration.

Tier 1 Location
Central Andes Miocene Porphyry Belt, San Juan Province (Argentina).
Immediately adjacent to giant >2Bt Altar deposit.
Proximate to some of the world’s biggest copper deposits:
- Los Pelambres (Antofagasta PLC) – 335–350 Kt Cu annual production.
- Los Azules (McEwen Mining) – 2.1 Bt @ 0.40% Cu.
- Altar (Aldebaran Resources) – 2.40 Bt @ 0.42% Cu, 0.07 g/t Au, 1.22 g/t Ag.
- El Pachón (Glencore) – 1.6 Bt @ 0.55% Cu.
Region consistently ranked as a top global mining jurisdiction (Fraser Institute).
Drilling to Date
7.1 km of diamond drilling has been completed across 8 holes (PIU-01 to PIU-08) at Piuquenes Central and Piuquenes East, confirming a gold-rich porphyry Cu system at Central and a second porphyry system at East.
Piuquenes Central (Cu-Au):
High grade Cu-Au intersections include:
- 413.5m @ 0.47% Cu, 0.52 g/t Au (from 167m)
- 158m @ 0.32% Cu, 0.60 g/t Au (from 3m)
- 558.2 m @ 0.38% Cu, 0.42 g/t Au, 2.4 g/t Ag (from 362m), incl. 180m @ 0.71% Cu, 0.61 g/t Au, 3.8 g/t Ag
- 801m @ 0.40% Cu, 0.51 g/t Au, 2.87 g/t Ag (from 54m), incl. 518m @ 0.53% Cu, 0.73 g/t Au, 3.45 g/t Ag
Piuquenes East (Cu-Au):
2 nd PORPHYRY Cu-Au SYSTEM DISCOVERED APRIL 25
Maiden drill hole:
- 208m @ 0.31% Cu, 0.13 g/t Au, 1.24 g/t Ag (from 292m), incl. 98m @ 0.49% Cu, 0.16 g/t Au, 1.26 g/t Ag
Piuquenes Central Cu-Au Model
Near-surface Cu-Au porphyry with strong open-pit potential
-
Multiple long, continuos intercepts from surface with +0.4-0.8% CuEq zones
-
High-grade core shows excellent continuity and remains open in several directions
-
Geological model indicates strong growth potential at depth and along strike
-
Grade, geometry, and scale support the concept of a large, expandable Cu-Au system

Significant Upside
All available historical technical data has been compiled into an integrated geological model. This highlights Piuquenes as a district-scale porphyry system with multiple untested targets.
Key Upside Potential:
- Possible deposit cluster: Desktop data confirms a northeast trend indicating multiple porphyry centres across the property.
- Piuquenes East – standout new target: An outcropping porphyry stockwork with a 400 × 300 m Cu–Au soil anomaly, intermediate chargeability, and resistivity features—drilling is now underway.
- Electrical geophysical anomalies: IP, resistivity, and MT surveys define high chargeability and resistivity zones at both Central and East, including buried pipe-like resistivity features—excellent first-pass targeting for new centres.
- Larger, underexplored land package: The tenement area was expanded (~34%), but most of it remains without systematic exploration—field mapping and targeting are just beginning.
- Bornite-rich core potential: Drilling at Central shows multi-phase mineralization with bornite presence, indicating the potential for a higher-grade core well at depth.
